Goatwater, Series 2:

CRACKED FIGURINES - PAGE 10 - We, The Class Of 1492

Itello
Sod it all, the bass is sick innit?

Missus
We, the class of 1492 (I’ll spare you the bloody yearbook pictures as I did look a mess), would like you to consider, if you will, residing for one night or one hour, at least, at the legendary, if shoddy, Hotel La Fete. The newly emancipated (well, graduated) house or field slave can pretend at this purgatory and playground, (for a small, nasty while at least) that their newfound freedom means they possess some kind of power. This building, a restored relic from what was once the largest plantation house on the smallest island, was affectionately known as The Mary Beth Delilah Emmy Lou Estate Hall, before (as wilier slaves used to whisper amongst themselves after hours) that long named, big bitch of an estate-house mysteriously burned to the ground. Abandoned, the premises became
a heathen’s jook joint trying to cool its devil-heat in the shadows until it was taken over and restored by my numbers-running, Quadroon Grandfather who christened the God-forsaken place Hotel La Fete. Love to you, Grand-pap! Do rest in peace!

So, former slave, as you leave behind your legacy of unpaid labor and before you enter into the winsome world of low wages, why not stay you at the Hotel La Fete where you’ll be fitted for your smile-mask and feted into fever?

Dear Reader,

If you don't dream any other day of the week, dream with me on Tuesdays.

Welcome to Goatwater, Series #2, entitled "Cracked Figurines."  The title of this Page is "We, The Class Of 1492."  I will post Goatwater 2, page 11 on Tuesday, July 10th.  Here's a link to the latest Goatwaterstrip.

Goatwaterstrip - single panel Goatwater comics in black and white, much like you'd find in a newspaper.  I create most of these with pen, pencil, ink and sometimes black and white paint. Every Tuesday you can continue to expect a full color painting from the Goatwater series plus most weeks I'll add one or two Goatwaterstrips. Please contact me if you have any questions about original Goatwater drawings or paintings for sale as well as signed reproductions. Thank you for all of your support and I look forward to continuing this Goatwater journey with you in new and interesting ways.

You can now link to the Table of Contents on every page. Click here to start at the beginning of this webcomic. Have a great week and remember that Goatwater is updated every Tuesday. Email any questions or comments to bassacards(at) yahoo.com.

If this is your first time visiting this site, or you are a regular reader, email me at the address above if you want me to add you to my mailing list so that I can send you an email reminder, every Tuesday, when I’ve added the new page. No spam, and I will not share your email with anybody else, just the link to the new page and some update information, if I have any. And feel free to let me know, at any time, if you want to stop receiving the weekly emails. Thank you for your support!
